How we work
At No Eye Deer Farm, our number one priority is finding the very best forever homes for our puppies. Every decision we make from pairing our parent dogs to raising each litter is guided by this goal. We’re not just looking for “any home,” we’re looking for the right home where each puppy will be loved, understood and truly part of the family.
We take the time to get to know our puppies and their individual personalities and we want to get to know you too, your lifestyle, what you’re looking for in a dog and what kind of companion will be the best fit. Our goal is always to create the best match possible, so both puppy and family can thrive together for years to come..
Our Application Process
We ask all potential puppy families to complete a questionnaire even if you’re not quite ready to bring a puppy home just yet. We often have a waitlist for future litters, so filling out the application early is a great way to express your interest and help us get to know you. Our application is completed through RightPaw, a trusted platform that helps connect ethical breeders with responsible families. Once we receive your application, we’ll review it carefully and be in touch to let you know if we think you’d be a great fit for one of our puppies. Taking the time to learn about each family helps us ensure our puppies are placed in loving homes where they’ll truly thrive and we’re so grateful to every person who shares their story with us.
What You Can Expect From Us
From the moment pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound, we’ll be in touch to let you know that puppies are officially on the way! Once the litter has arrived and mum and babies have settled in, we’ll arrange a video call so you can meet the pups and we can chat more about the exciting journey ahead.
When you are ready and have chosen your new family member, we’ll ask for a deposit to secure your puppy. We don’t take any deposits until the puppies are born and you’ve had a chance to choose your new furry family member, it’s important to us that everything feels right on both sides.
You’ll receive weekly updates with photos, videos and milestones so you can watch your puppy grow and feel part of their story from the very beginning. Once they’re six weeks old and have had their first vaccination, health check and microchipping, we’ll invite you to our home to meet, snuggle and start bonding with your pup before they join your family at eight weeks of age.
We’re here to make this experience as special and memorable as possible and to support you every step of the way.
Support After You Take Your Puppy Home
Bringing a puppy home is just the beginning and we’re here for the whole journey.
At No Eye Deer Farm, our commitment to you doesn’t end when your puppy leaves our care. We’re always just a message or phone call away. Whether you’ve got a quick question about settling in, need help with training, or just want to share a cute update (we love those!), we’re here for it all.
We genuinely care about every one of our puppies and the families they join. Many of our families stay in touch long after their puppy goes home and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
FAQs
Can We Meet the Puppies Before They Turn 6 Weeks Old?
Unfortunately, no.
We could talk about the reasons forever, but here are a few of the most important ones.
When puppies are born, their mum is completely devoted to caring for her babies. Having unfamiliar people around her newborn puppies can cause unnecessary stress during a time when she should feel safe, relaxed and focused on her little family.
Young puppies are also particularly vulnerable to germs and disease. Just like a human newborn baby, their immune systems are still developing and we take every precaution possible to keep them healthy and safe during these early weeks.
There's also not a lot to see at first! Newborn puppies can't see, hear, or walk. They spend most of their time sleeping, feeding and cuddling with Mum. To be honest, you'd mostly be standing there looking at a little puppy lump! 😊
By 6 weeks of age, everything changes. The puppies are stronger, more resilient and full of personality. They're running, playing, exploring, interacting with people and are an absolute joy to spend time with. They have also had their first vaccinations and health checks, making visits much safer for everyone involved.
Occasionally, we may have a puppy still available after they have turned 6 weeks of age. In these situations, we are more than happy to arrange visits for families to come and meet the available puppies.
For the wellbeing of our mums and puppies, we do not allow visits before 6 weeks of age. Please don't ask us to make exceptions, as this is a firm policy that we apply to every litter. If meeting puppies before 6 weeks of age is a requirement for you, we completely understand, but we may not be the right breeder for your family. In the meantime, we love keeping our puppy families involved through regular photos, videos and updates so you can follow your puppy's journey from the very beginning.
What Is Meet Your Puppy Day?
One of our favourite milestones is Meet Your Puppy Day.
Once the puppies have had their big day out at the vet for their health checks, vaccination and microchipping at 6 weeks of age, we invite our puppy families to join us here at the farm to meet the puppies in person.
Meet Your Puppy Day is usually held on a Saturday morning. We understand that not everyone can make it, so please don't worry if you're unable to attend. However, if you can make it, it's a wonderful opportunity to spend some time with your new family member before they come home.
It's also a chance to meet the other puppy families, ask any questions you may have and enjoy seeing the puppies together as a litter before they begin heading off on their individual adventures.
We set up a large play area on the front lawn and the puppies usually have the time of their lives. They're running, playing, exploring and showing off all the personalities we've been telling you about in our updates.
The visit generally lasts around an hour. At this age, puppies are full of energy... until suddenly they're not! Before long you'll find them crashed out all over the lawn, asleep in the strangest positions after exhausting themselves with all the excitement. For many families, Meet Your Puppy Day is the moment everything starts to feel real and it's one of our favourite days of the entire puppy journey.
What Age Can My Puppy Come Home?
Your puppy will be ready for their next big adventure with you at 8 weeks of age — never earlier.
Our expectation is that families make arrangements to collect their puppy on go home day wherever possible. While we always try to be accommodating, we have found that delaying collection can sometimes be harder on the puppy than people realise.
Imagine spending every day of your life in the same home, sleeping beside your brothers and sisters, playing together, eating together and experiencing the world together. Then one day, all of your siblings leave.
The puppy that remains behind is still in the exact same environment they have always known, but suddenly their brothers and sisters are gone. They spend time looking for them, waiting for them and wondering where they have disappeared to.
When puppies leave for their new homes together, the transition is often much smoother. They are entering a brand new environment, meeting their new family, exploring new sights and smells and beginning an exciting new chapter. They are not expecting their siblings to be there because everything around them is different.
We also recommend collecting your puppy in the morning where possible. This gives them the entire day to explore their new home, bond with their family, play, rest and begin settling in before their first night away from Mum and their littermates.
Our goal is always to make the transition from our home to yours as smooth and positive as possible, giving every puppy the very best start to life with their new family.
Price & Payment
The current price of our puppies is advertised on our RightPaw pages.
Once you have chosen your puppy, we require a $500 deposit to secure your new little family member. This deposit confirms your commitment and allows us to mark the puppy as reserved.
The remaining balance is due the day before your puppy goes home. Please note that the funds must have cleared into our account prior to collection.
If you would prefer to pay the balance in cash on pick-up day, that is absolutely fine. We simply ask that this is arranged with us in advance.
